November 21 -- The Solemnity of our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe Dear Friends, Jesus shows us His identity as King and then goes further and defines what it “means to be a King.” He is the humble servant, who came to serve rather than be served. He is the good shepherd, who with the 99 “goes after the one” who is lost.
November 14--Dear Friends, For this 33rd Week in Ordinary Time, our Lord Jesus draws from the book of the Prophet Daniel, describing the final tribulation. Yet even during the “final tribulation” we can “hold on” to the assurances of God’s mercy. So, most importantly, we are called to live in HOPE not fear.
November 7 -- 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time We hear for the 32nd Sunday, that the Lord provides for Elijah’s needs as the widow of Zarephath share with him, from what she has. We then see her generosity mirrored in the story of the widow in the temple who from her poverty gives. We know, Jesus became poor for each of us, and He shared His earthly life with the poor 2,000 years ago.
