Fr. Craigs Contemplations This weekend we are blessed to be hosting Fr. Alan Bower representing Cross Catholic Outreach. This official Catholic ministry was founded to link parishes in the U.S. with priests, religious brothers and sisters, and laypeople working in Church missions overseas. Its programs span the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and Central and South America. Please be generous in your response to his appeal. Please be sure to say “hi” after Mass. Brochures with a donation envelope will be provided if you wish to support this worthy Catholic ministry. For more information on Cross Catholic Outreach, please go to CrossCatholic.org/outreach
Fr. Bower is a 28 year Navy veteran. He transitioned to the Naval Reserve as a Navy Chaplain the day of his ordination, May 20, 1989. He was recalled to active duty for Desert Shield/Storm (JAN-SEP 1991) and served the Marines at Camp LeJeune, NC. In 1997, his bishop released him for a three (3) year period of active duty during which he served as Command Chaplain of Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Command Chaplain of the USMC landing craft/aircraft carrier USS WASP (LHD-1). As an Outreach Priest he is able to see the difference Cross Catholic makes in serving the poor. He is inspired and motivated as a priest working with those in need. An inspiring and compassionate orator, Cross Catholic Outreach is proud to have Father Bower preach on behalf of those we serve — the poorest of the poor.
