Fr. Craig’s Contemplation’s September 26, 2021 Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Friends, we hear from both Joshua’s ministry and our Lord Jesus’ ministry that God uses the “least likely” people to be an instrument of grace. From this, the “least likely” instruments of the Lord help to point us back to the TRUTH of the Lord. Consider, St. Juan Diego, just 2400 miles South of us, a simple farmer, who through many trials in the 1530’s in Mexico brings about through our Lady’s help, the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Jesus will, with what the “world views” as the “least likely people” point us in a direction that is CLOSER to Him. Often children can do that for us. Consider a tender-hearted child, who encourages us to go to church or to pray for a sick loved one, etc. The Lord is using the “least likely” to show us, He is in our midst. Brothers and Sisters – Jesus is calling each of us! He is calling each of us into an encounter, a life-giving encounter and for many of us this encounter will begin with someone society might call the “least likely person.” I want to thank so many of you, who have offered me such a warm welcome. Beginning the week of October 4, if you would like to meet with me personally, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Parish Office by phone or e-mail, to set up an appointment. I would be glad to meet you. May the Lord bless you this week. Fr. Craig
